Introduction
Hall Green Arts Forum, Art Works, is supporting a two feasibility studies, in partnership with a number of community organisations, in order to be able to develop fundable proposals for the delivery of cultural activities as part of the Commonwealth Games Cultural Programme in 2022.
In Balsall Heath, Celebrating Sanctuary Birmingham have been working together with The Gap Arts, Ort Gallery and Craftspace to develop plans through several creative consultations, including an online creative workshop with Artist Shaheen Ahmed.
In Sparkhill, The Springfield Centre are working with Art Works and Friction Arts to develop ideas for their proposal through online consultation facilitated by Babies Adventures in Music. They are planning a participatory arts programme with local families, culminating in a community festival in Sparkhill Park next year.
Plans will be submitted to Birmingham City Council at the end of March, following a period of consultation with residents in both areas.
